AdamThomasMoran: The Russian Version Of Ray William Johnson?

I don't know if this guy is deliberating copying Ray William Johnson's format or not (probably is my guess) but if you watch this following video from the Russian language channel called AdamThomasMoran I think you can see a bit of similarity to Ray's Equals 3:

With the quick cuts and the the host jumping around the screen intermixed with video clips, um, yeah. The video is entirely a RWJ clone with a Russian twist. If you look at the channel details, he lists Ray as his influence.

And more importantly, he's getting subs, 69,787 to date, which makes him the most subscribed youtuber in Russia. And he's starting to get massive views: more than a million on the video he uploaded 3 days ago and over 2 million from the one posted on Youtube a week ago. He joined Youtube at the end of July 2010 and for the 21 videos he's uploaded he has over 25 million views. Makes me wish I knew how to speak Russian and had thought of copying Ray first.

Next step is to get partnered up and he's set. Whoops, he already is.

Shay Carl Pledges To Lose 40 Pounds By March 5th

I was just watching the video below from the Shaytards and it looks like Shay Carl is going to try to shed a little bit of his excess Shay:

For those of us who are longtime viewers of the Shaytards, we know Shay has been trying over the years to drop some tonnage (and even started a channel back in early November 2009 called ShayLoss) it has been difficult for the big guy. According to what he said in the vlog he hopes to lose 40 pounds by his 31st birthday (it's already almost Shay's birthday again?) which is March 5th.

Shay is actually very active for a heavier dude as you can tell by his Shaytards vlogs and always doing healthy stuff with Mommytard and the tardlets. His problem, like most of us is that he likes food a lot.

I for one knew he was planning something along these lines because I follow him on Twitter (follow him here: @shaycarl). He has been tweeting with @phillyd (Philip DeFranco) and others about working out and stuff. Phil is also trying to drop some weight and it looks like it is Game On between Shay, Phil and some others. If you want to try to lose a handle here or there or just offer support to them, let them know (either on Twitter or on their videos).

And here's the video where Phil DeFranco Challenges Shay to lose weight over the next 30 days, starting on January 31st. The stakes are that whomever loses the least has to pay $2,000 to the other's charity of choice. Solid wager there. Phil said in the video that he wants to lose about 15 pounds, but if you watched the Shaytards' video Shay said he could probably lose 15 pounds in just a few days. I think Phil may lose this one, but still, the winner will be whichever charity ends up getting the moola. It will be interesting to watch them battle it out.

Marcus Butler Attempts The Chicken McNugget Challange

You've probably seen several youtubers try to do the Chubby Bunny Challenge and the Cinnamon Challenge, but here's Marcus Butler (MarcusButlerTV) along with Alfie aka PointlessBlog about to chow down on a massive pile of 60 Chicken McNuggets each:

And... fail. But a valient attempt. According to the comments on the video each 20 McNugget serving equals about 920 calories, so Marcus ingested about 1,840 calories and Alfie about 1,400. Both no doubt will have a longterm aversion to McDonalds because of this, so there is that silver lining.

What Is The Tobuscus Audience Doing In James Cameron's Pocket?

If you follow Toby Turner (aka tobuscus) on Youtube you will notice that his audience finds itself in all sorts of awkward places at the start of his videos, but I don't know if we have ever been in an odd spot like the pocket of director James Cameron before. And what the heck is Tobuscus doing hanging around with the famous director of Titanic and Avatar?

If you follow Toby Turner on Twitter, or any number of the other bigname youtubers like Phil DeFranco, MysteryGuitarMan, Nigahiga, you would have seen that they tweeted about meeting Cameron and Olga Kay and Shane Dawson tweeted pictures with him. It sounds like it was a pretty cool night. If you want to follow James Cameron on Twitter, he is @JimCameron. He just started tweeting on Friday and he's already got 35,000-plus followers. I took a look at some of the people Cameron is following and he started following actor Tom Arnold before he followed Barack Obama - how does Arnold rate that? lol.

Olga Kay Talks With James Cameron

You can always count on Olga to get a picture or video of stuff like this. She filmed a bit of her conversation with James Cameron where they talk about her being a juggler and coming to the U.S. Just wish she had gotten a little bit more.

Freddie Wong Calls Timeout During a Shootout

I always like seeing one of freddiew's videos showing up in my subscription box. In case you don't know who Freddie Wong along with Brandon Laatsch, his partner on this channel are, they are a couple of the best special effects folks on Youtube. They are now the 26th most subscribed channel with 874,465 subs. If you like this sort of cool FX stuff, check out their other stuff at the link above. You won't be disappointed.

Wait a minute! I thought Heroes went off the air. Gotta admit Freddie bears something of a resemblence to the character Hiro from that show in this video, especially with the stopping time aspect.

George Watsky: How Does That Pale Kid Rap So Fast?

Sometimes it seems I am the last one to find great videos it seems as the following video by George Watsky (aka gwatsky) somehow slips past me. If you don't know who Watsky is, he's known more for his poems than rapping, but you wouldn't know it from this video. This kid is FAST! Listen to his flow:

You go gay baby!

I've been watching this over and over and yes I have tried to say it just like he does and failing miserably. How did I find out about this video? I was watching the latest from Hank Green of the vlogbrothers who made a valient attempt to copy Watsky's style (and did a fair job) but couldn't keep up. One think about Hank and his brother John is that they do highlight some cool stuff in their vlogs and who knows when I would have stumbled across Watsky's epic little clip? If you like poetry (or more specifically slam poetry) check out his channel.

Here's the video by the vlogbrothers that tipped me off to George's video. In Hank's video besides the part where he tries to rap like gwatsky he also has news about VidCon 2011, which you will want to know about if you are thinking about attending the July 2011 event.

As a side note, I checked one of the video responses to Watsky's video and stumbled across the channel of BeautifulGirlByDana a Canadian vlogger who talks about the video and offers some very important pointers for those who post music videos on Youtube but are without record deals or large channels (think VEVO et al) behind them. His video is very laid back and although the clip is 10 minutes long, I would definitely recommend that you listen to what he has to say about the changes made to how music videos are presented on Youtube. Basically he tells lesser known musicians and other artists how to get more views for their work which can get buried in the Bieber-Lady Gaga stuff. I will be writing more about what he says because it is intriguing news.

YourFavoriteMartian: Ray William Johnson Finally Posts A Video And...

Ray William Johnson just uploaded the first video to his new channel Yourfavoritemartian called "My Balls". It turns out it is a music channel (with Ray singing) and animation. If you haven't seen it yet, here is the video:

What do you think? I watched it shortly after it was uploaded and then started reading the comments. Most are highly complementary but after getting past the die-hard fans declaring it the best thing they've ever seen (high praise indeed) you notice that there are comments here and there about it being disappointing. Actually, looking at the likes/dislikes, as I write this it is 4,095 thumbs up wth 789 thumbs down. That means about 20 percent disliked the video enough to actually dislike it which is quite substantial. Will have to see what the percentage is after those who are more casual Equals 3 viewers have had a chance to see it to gauge the overall opinion.

As far as the music part of the video, it is a catchy little song and it is available on iTunes at Your Favorite Martian: My Balls if you want to download the song.

The animation is okay too, but there is better on Youtube. It does make for a humorous visual and works with the song. I will say that this video is 100 times better musically and animation-wise than the
Fred music video from last November (see Wow! Fred Figglehorn Drops An Album if you want to watch that video).

As far as Ray William Johnson passing Nigahiga as the most subscribed channel on Youtube, Ray has added a ton of new subscribers on the Yourfavoritemartian channel - he had 173,000 subs last monday and after announcing that the first video would drop he now has about 300K. After Nigahiga posted his Agents Of Secret Stuff he now has 3,157,457 subscribers. Ray's raywilliamjohnson channel where he hosts his Equals 3 show has 2,737,433 subs, so he is still closing the gap. This past week Ray once again had the channel gaining the most subscribers (47,000) while Nigahiga was farther down the list (23,000), so at this rate it will only be a matter of time before Ray overtakes Ryan Higa. Actually, if you add Ray's 2 channels together they are pretty close. I do think that neither really cares too much which one of them has "the most Youtube subscribers" and both wish the other much success.

Still, what is your take on Ray's new video?

Ray William Johnson's New Project "Yourfavoritemartian" Finally Rolls Out January 26, 2011

It was hinted at months ago and it looks like Ray William Johnson is finally ready for the big unveil. Back at the end of June 2010 Ray posted a video with his "Equals 3" theme song (complete with the dancing cat) with a "Coming Soon" promise.

Now we get a similar video (see below) with a date for when we finally get to find out what this new project is all about.

The channel is called Yourfavoritemartian and since the relase of that teaser video Ray's new channel has racked up over 173K subscribers all waiting (im)patiently for more details.

All I know is that Ray loves his music, so I'm guessing something music based, but because Ray has been so darned secretive, not too many know anything about what type of content we can expect. You might notice that the channel is listed in the "musician" category on Youtube as well, so is Ray gonna be laying down some fat tracks? Coming from me that last sentence sounds incredibly lame, but we'll have to wait til Wednesday to see what's what.

Feel free to comment below if YOU know, but like I said, I'm thinking music. Of course the name is a play on an old TV show (My Favorite Martian) but doubtful Ray will be reviewing American Idol or Jersey Shore (dear God I hope not). But like you, I'll be watching.

TimothyDeLaGhetto And The New Boy Band

There are some who don't really take TimothyDeLaGhetto all that seriously as far as his music is concerned, but maybe the following video will make you change your mind. Tim along with a bunch of his buddies Andrew Garcia, JR Aquino, LeeJay Abucayan, Passion and Jesse Barrera stopped by the local radio station in Aquino's hometown of Anchorage, Alaska where they were promoting a concert and sang a bit.

I've seen most of these guys in other videos Tim has posted and in a few they sang a little, but they did sound pretty darn good here. I saw this video right after Tim posted it and haven't had a chance to post it here for more folks to check it out. Once again, thumbs up.

While I'm adding that last video, I thought I had to post this other one Tim did months ago that I laugh at every time I see it. All I can say is that if I woke up with a girl as butt ugly as supereeego (Eric Ochoa) I'd be chewing my arm off lol.

Yup, Eric makes one UG-ly girl, near or far. You might want to check out his channel too as he's now topped 200,000 subscribers. You have to wonder what Bruno Mars thinks about this parody.

Josh Groban Sings Kanye West Tweets

On the Jimmy Kimmel Live television show, singer (and Oscar and Grammy nominated) Josh Groban appeared to promote what will no doubt be remembered as THE album set of the new milennium. Similar to the incredible cultural explosion in the early 1960s when the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan show, many will remember where they were when they first heard Groban's electrifying rendition of the tweets of Mister Showbiz himself, Kanye West. You may want to grab a box of tissues to have them handy as Groban wrings the emotion from such tweets as "Do You Know Where To Find A Marble Conference Table?" - I'm sorry, I can't continue writing as I am overcome with emotions myself. I feel it in the pit of my stomach, or it may be that burrito I just ate.

If you are not yet following Kanye on Twitter (for SHAME!) his Twitter account where you can tap into the sheer brilliance that is the Kanye Experience is @kanyewest*.

*All claims of brilliance, inspiration, musical genius etc have all been verified from the source himself, Kanye West. Follow Kanye West at own risk as side effects may include a certain lowering of personal I.Q. and/or free will as well as the acknowledgement of a lack of taste in music in general.

Ashton Kutcher And Scout Willis Sing On Youtube

Just like 99 percent of everyone else who is on Twitter I am following Ashton Kutcher (@aplusk on Twitter) and just spotted that he and Scout Willis had posted a song of them singing together. Dunno if Scout has a Twitter account or not. Kutcher tweeted: Per request here is the You Tube link to Scout and my first single "My Sober" and gave a link to the Youtube video below:

His "first single?" I do not know if Kutcher is planning on releasing an album but this was kinda nice. It's interesting to see some of the famous folk in this kind of unguarded setting, just kickin' back with the guitar.

Youtube Gathering: Melbourne Australia ~ January 2011

It looks like quite the tournout for the Youtube Gathering in Melbourne on January 22, 2011 as seen in the following video by AngryAussie. A while back Kimmi Smiles posted a video saying that there would be a gathering and that popular youtuber Dave Days would be flying in from the U.S. Kimmi and Dave have done several collab videos and it looks like Melbourne certainly welcomed him to the city.

Lots of people showed up and I think I recognized Louna Maroun (hard to miss with the flaming red hair) among others. Frezned was also on hand, but it looks like Dave was a big draw for many.

Is Kevjumba A Heterosexual Bear Wrestler?

I don't know if kevjumba is actually a heterosexual bear wrestler or not, but his request in his last video that all his fans Google that phrase seems to have paid off for him quite nicely lol. As you can see in the screen shot opposite, it looks like Google Trends shows that Kevjumba may be the very epitome of machismo as his question is numero uno.

If you haven't watched his video, you can find it below. It seems that Kev was suffering under a common affliction for those in the public in that when you ask "Is so-and-so" it seems most people are asking about their sexuality and Kev was being Googled to see if he was gay or not.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, but he obviously would prefer that the 1st question that sprang to mind when his name is mentioned is something, a little more macho. So he asked that his viewers enter the question: "Is Kevjumba a heterosexual bear wrestler." And it looks like it worked lol.

Actually I was watching another channel on Youtube that I follow where a similar problem cropped up. Hank and John Green of the vlogbrothers were wondering about what people were Googling their names and finding. John Green's search revealed lots of questions like "Is John Green an author" and "Is John Green married" etc. Poor Hank's search had no results for his name, but do not despair Hank, because your name is also held in high esteem by an army of nerdfighters.

Here's Kevjumba's video where he asks us to Google him:

Gotta love Papa Jumba lol.

And if you haven't seen the video by the Vlogbrothers, here is that one:

So What Has BriBryonTour Gotten Himself Up To Lately?

When we last saw Brian O'Reilly (aka BriBryonTour) he was in the midst of completing his own "bucket list" of sorts. You can find the last post I did about his misadventures here: Brian O Reilly's 'Things To Do Before You Die'. From the looks of things, he is still going full barrel and his latest video shows him jumping on a plane to a random destination:

That's a pretty sweet little trip over to Norway. Personally I haven't had a chance to zip over to Oslo or any of the other cities in Norway, but it looks awesome. It's too bad that he couldn't have done some kind of a meetup with youtubers in Norway and got some pictures of some pretty Norwegian girls, but if you are jumping on a plane at the last minute, that sort of makes it difficult to plan any kind of gathering. Beautiful scenery though.

I wonder what's next on his agenda? If you want to find out what he's done so far, subscribe to him at the link above or go to his website and check that out. As shown in the video and according to his friend Jake, "Mr Fancypants" has a website at, so visit it and say hi. Also, he sells his music through that website and it is also available on iTunes. What he's doing is first-rate, so if you can, show some support.

Shaytards: Rocktard's Starting To Crawl And Mommytard Gets A Little Loopy

Watching Shay Carl playing with his son, little Rocktard, it is hard to believe it is only about 7 months since Shay and Mommytard went to the hospital to have the little guy. If you haven't seen the video of when Rocktard was born (you aren't a real Shaytards fan unless you've seen this video), here's a link to the Bradshaw's Blog post I did about it: Shaytards Clan Welcomes A New Member. Seeing how alert and all smiley-faced he is now and how he is sooo close to actually crawling, it's hard to imagine watching a Shaytards video without catching a glimpse of the youngest tardlet.

Watching this video you know it's just a matter of time before Rocktard will be scampering after his older brother and sisters and getting into some sort of mischief.

And poor Mommytard had to visit the dentist again. Katilette was downright loopy after getting her crown put on. Even under the influence of the laughing gas she's still PDC ("Pretty Darn Cute" as Shay would say) and you have to laugh when she called him her "suger daddy" for footing the bill.

If you didn't see the video Katilette uploaded yesterday of her and Carli at the gym, you would have missed Rocktard's attempts to crawl, but you can really see he's a little mover now. Here's a link if you missed it: Katilette at the gym with Carli.

Do You Think The New Youtube Layout Sucks?

Recently Youtube changed the website's homepage layout yet again in an effort to keep on top of the everchanging world of online video, but many are saying the new layout sucks. Youtube, in a post on the Youtube Blog claims "some" have mentioned that they don't like it and that others say they love it. You can read about the changes here: New YouTube homepage launches to all users.

What is your opinion? The video below is from jussttom who expresses in no uncertain terms what his impression of the changes made to Youtube are:

Looking at the numerous negative comments made on many videos about the changes, there seems to be a large portion of users of the website who feel the usability of Youtube suffers with the changes made.

Like jussttom mentions, the grid showing all the latest videos has been removed with a scrolling tower (similar to comments on Twitter or Facebook) has replaced it forcing users to scroll down the list to find those videos they want to watch. Personally I think the new format diminishes the enjoyment of site.

Most websites want their important content above the fold or immediately visable to visitors of the website and with the grid, you had a quick scan of almost all of the youtubers you were subscribed to right there in front of you. Now you have to scroll and scoll down the page. This new layout takes away the option to a certain extent to view those videos you really want to watch immediately.

Suppose you are a fan of Ray William Johnson or Phil DeFranco or Shane Dawson. With the old layout you could see almost immediately when they posted a new video and could quickly click to watch them. With the new layout, you are forced to bypass others who you are subscribed in order to watch your particular favorites.

There are some channels that you want to watch as soon as they post and not have to search for by scrolling down the page. Not everyone spends hours and hours on Youtube and with this new format some of those who are not the most subscribed or popular will lose views from the casual Youtube user. That means less money for Youtube partners with smaller audiences.

Woman Falls Into Fountain While Texting (Video)

Here's a video that is just tearing up the charts on Youtube and elsewhere of a woman walking through a mall while texting and sploosh, faceplants into a fountain emerging embarrassed and soaked.

It turns out that the woman was unhurt which is good of course, but when news that the video tape had made it's way to the internet (and Youtube specifically) the woman is looking to possibly sue the mall for her mishap. Don't know what more they could have done short of erecting idiot guards around the fountain. Or maybe put up signs saying "No Texting While Walking" around the fountain.

Apparently after finding out from a relative that the video was posted online she made a beeline to a lawyer it seems to try to cash in because no one helped her. One dude with mall housekeeping asked her if she was all right and the woman replied she "was just a little wet".

Here's The Young Turks Take

Have to hand it to Ana and Cenk of TheYoungTurks especially the part about how she should have just let it go because no one could tell who it was. I don't see any merit in any sort of lawsuit on her side. She was employed at the mall and knew the fountain was there and allowed herself to become distracted. It's a shame about the mishap, but maybe she or anyone else wandering around totally self-absorbed and texting will learn from this. The only thing she should be upset about (beyond her own clumsiness) is the video hitting the Internet.

I'm going to make a radar app for iPhones and I'll make a mint.

So, Can iJustine Lick Her Own Elbow?

Here is the latest "Ask IJ" where viewers of iJustine get their questions answered by IJ.

Of course as a good Pittsburgh girl, iJustine admits to being a Pittsburgh Steelers fans (awesome Steelers jersey too) and I have to give the thumbs up because I've been a Steelers fan for ever. Hey, my name is BRADSHAW, as in Terry Bradshaw, Hall of Fame quarterback. May be too old for all the kids, but I have been supporting the Steelers forever. So that's a plus that iJustine knows a good NFL team when she sees one lol.

And can she lick her own elbow? That would be no. Not too many can do that (I can't) but I know several people who can. Maybe it's a Canadian thing. Also liked the pan around her place where iJustine shows that IJ Studios is actually just her apartment. She gets that cool halo effect behind her by using a bright light on the wall. She showed how she sets up her lighting for videos in an earlier video.

What's iJustine's Studio Like?

Actually I like the following video because IJ shows what her set-up is for when she does her videos. They always seem so polished and well done and she shows her viewers what she does to get the effect in her videos.

It seems so easy and doesn't it seem like you could do that too?

Remember That One Night When Andy Sandberg And Pee-wee Herman Went Drinking?

I've always been a fan of Pee-wee Herman and didn't know he was such a BAMF when you got a few shots of tequila in him. The video is a SNL short when Andy Sandberg meets Pee-wee at a bar. Trouble follows. Who woulda thought that would happen?

Classic. And they got Anderson Cooper? I think you may have had a bit too much booze if your chair starts talking to you though.

Top 100 Most Subscribed Canadians On Youtube

I've been promising to provide an updated Top 100 Most Subscribe Canadians list for some time and finally, here it is. As you may know, I also have made a top 100 list covering the UK, and I will be posting ones for Australia, Ireland and several others because each of these countries deserve to have their best (not just most subscribed) shown some support.

And nothing wrong with getting a backlink on the Internet even if it's from my lameass blog right? That's one of the reason I do this - to give those hardworking folks a heads up that, yes, there really ARE people watching!

So, who are the most subscribed Canadian Youtubers as of January 15, 2011? Here is the list of those Canadian YouTube channels with the highest number of subscribers and compared to where they were on the last update (July 2010 - man, I have to update these more often!).

It is probably no surprise that heading the list is Justin Bieber's kidraul channel given his huge fan base. Actually, the first 4 are all on the worldwide Top 100 Most Subscribed List.

First, here's the Top 10 Most Subscribed In Canada:
Now: 904388
July 2010: 684515
Now: 579347
July 2010: 409030
Now: 572388
July 2010: 437486
Now: 495128
July 2010: 395922
Now: 475703
July 2010: Not even listed
Now: 301201
July 2010: 194528
Now: 296601
July 2010: 222663
Now: 255304
July 2010: Not even listed
Now: 253744
July 2010: 136783
Now: 246675
July 2010: 192687

1. kidraul - Surprised? Bieber has been the number one most subscribed Canadian youtuber for a long time now and it is doubtful anyone is going to knock him off the top of the heap anytime soon. I for one am getting a little bit tired of the over-saturation of all things Bieber-related but the kid from Stratford Ontario just keeps chugging along.

2. pyrobooby - Peter Chao just may be the only one who might rival Bieber for the most subbed in Canada, but he has a long way to go before he knocks off Bieber. He would have to get double the subs he currently has and the meantime Bieber continues getting a lot of new subs every week. Choa is known as The Chinese Guy on YouTube with his exaggerated thick accent conbined with massive attitude. Straight outta Vancouver, Chao has a bit of a potty mouth, but he can be very funny. His 2nd channel, The Chao Nationis also doing good and is the 15th most subbed in Canada with a further 182,430 subs.

3. jonlajoie - Jon Lajoie slipped a bit in the top 10, but still has been killing it with his videos. Check out his most recent about Retaphin! Not Just For Those Who Need Retaphin. That Bradshaw's Blog post also includes WTF Collective 2. Awesome.

4. FLuffeeTalks - FLuffee's videos mostly have him sitting in front of his camera (wearing his black toque with "FLuffee" on it) and discussing oddball news items. Better than it sounds like actually. He's number 81 worldwide on YouTube and about to get his 500,000th subscriber. Fluff was just about to get his 400K sub last July, so that's a sweet improvement. Check out his 2nd channel ThisisFLuffee, with a further 100,342 subscribers. That one is up to number 41 in Canada although it's been 4 months since he uploaded to that channel.

5. trailers - This is the VEVO channel for Bieber and it has leapt up the charts and now sits 5th. Personally I don't really like all the various VEVO channels that are encroaching the top of all the different charts. A little too corporate for me. But they are getting views and subscribers, so they have to be included. I would suggest in most cases that you sub to the artist's personal Youtube channels (if they have one that isn't just for announcements or releases).

6. charliejames1975 - This channel features the incredible Zuzana and you've probably found her channel because of the hot thumbnails of Zuzana working out. After actually watching her you realize that she is a serious trainer and in absolutely fantastic shape. Really, you could shred lettuce on her abs. I dare you to stop watching for the hotness factor and try to keep up with her as she does her exercises. If you want a body like that, it takes a lot of hard work.

7. trailers - as it's name suggests, um, trailers. This is the Official Viso Trailers channel. Good if you are looking for trailers.

8. KlassicMaster - This is the Youtube channel of Mike Kalombo, an extremely talented musician/producer. Somehow Mike's channel slipped under my radar, but no more. You need to go check out his tunes. I didn't even have KlassicMaster on my last list of the top 100 Canadians and BOMB here he is dropping in at number 8! I'll be putting up a feature about him channel later this month.

9. ahmirTV - Talented. I am always willing to give channels like this a big thumbs up. If you have not heard them, give this a listen: Just The Way You Are (AHMIR cover). The R&B quartet were signed by Robbins Entertainment in September 2010. Their Youtube account says they are "The Number One R&B Group on Youtube." Yes, yes they are.

10. jeyyounit11 - Jeydon Wale's channel. I don't usually slam too many channels but this is just incredibly bad. Wale stopped posting videos a while back but is posting them again. Personally I think there is nothing wrong with being goofy, but this is really lame.
Wale is 19 years old (almost 20) and he's doing stuff that you do when you are 13-14 years old and that seems to be where his audience is - primarily tween girls as the majority of comments seem to dwell on how "dreamy" he is and asking him to marry them. Hopefully he will mature a smidge and evolve beyond this type of humour. When a guy gets to his late teens and early 20s and attracts primarily very young female fans by acting like a little kid it starts getting a little creepy. He has been getting more subs but thankfully this channel is slipping out of the Top 10 as it was 6th most subbed back in July 2010.

That's the Top 10 for Canada, but there are a LOT of other equally good or better channels the further down the list. With the 3 new channels in the Top 10, 3 channels had to drop out and those are lisalavie1 Lisa is an incredible singer still a solid number 12 overall. I wouldn't be surprised to see her slip right back into the top 10 shortly.

Game channels are all the thing, but somehow TehNoobWorld only increased by about 14,000 subs. Probably because the channel doesn't do game play or reviews but is trying to do voiceover and storylines which is done better on other channels. Only really interesting for those immersed in the game they cover. It gets old really fast unless you are fully immersed in the gamer world, but it seems that these dudes need to get out and gets into the sunlight and meet some chicks. Finally, there's shimmycocopuffsss aka Daniel Shim who dropped to 14th overall in Canada. At first and maybe even 2nd glance you'd think "gay dude", but Shim says he's "just some random straight Asian guy who cares about fashion & looks as equally as a girl or more. One of my pet peeves is that there are some channels supposedly based in Canada (Avril Lavigne springs to mind) that block their content to those who live in their native country. I think that if that is the case they will be blocked from the Top 100 list when it is next updated because it is not truly a Canadian Youtube channel.

MrChaoNation is Pyrobooby's 2nd channel and he's had a big jump in subscribers since last July. Notice that there are a couple more new channels listed in this part pbpproductions and Avril Lavigne) that were not even on the list 6 months ago which shows there is plenty of room for upward movement.

Why do I feel like I was Rick Rolled watching this video? I guess you could say I was "Jesse Rolled". I have no problem with the dancers, but I think that anyone who likes this song or video needs to watch Jon Lajoie's Pop Star Video. A far better choice would be the video below by greenday3840.

I should have featured Janick Thibault in that feature on this blog called "Under The Radar". A lot of talent here and he's just 16 years old? Original music written and performed by the artist/singer is ALWAYS better than slick, packaged, bland music that they are always trying to push on teen girls.

This is particularly funny if you are a Black Ops player as you get all the action with a parody of 70s Toto music. "Let's bring the pain down in Aricaaaa"

Nickelback's Youtube channel suffers just as big a FAIL just like Avril Lavigne's because their record company doesn't allow access to their videos if you live in Canada. It would be like U2 being denied in Ireland (not that I'm comparing Nickelback to U2), or Katy Perry being denied to UK fans. I think that the next time I update this Top 100 Canadian youtubers list that if the channel content cannot actually be accessed by Canadians the channel will be left off the list.

With NHLVideo, you get exactly what you think ~ all hockey highlights, all the time. As a Canadian male I think you're automatically subbed when you get a Youtube account. Simple Plan's channel has music and stuff, but nothing new for about 7 months. If you are interested in learning Jiu Jitsu, you need to check out Submissions101.

Another abandoned channel? No content on Drummerboy00 since April 2010. Anytime a video starts with the warning that "concentrated sodium hydroxide is very corrosive so wear gloves when handling it", you have my attention. Science experiments are what you'll find on NurdRage.

Nothing new on number 81 Telner's channel in 9 months and counting. It is not really my thing, but pr3ttykitty1337 seems to be getting a lot of subs with videos about the family cat. With LinusTechTips (number 91), it is just like the name says - tech tips from Linus. He knows his stuff. And check out Bobby Crispy's channel if you have any interest in learning to play the guitar. Crispy knows his stuff and posts new content all the time.

It's a shame about PurchaseBrothers abandoning their channel. Another account that has not been updated for about a year. It has only 5 Videos, but awesome content. Unforgiven11? No new videos for 2 years, but he gets new subs? His last video was about stalkers. Makes you wonder what evil fate befell him.

As you can see, to make the Top 100 in Canada, you need to have at least around 40,000 subscribers. Just 6 months ago, all it took was around 30K so the bar keeps getting raised. That shouldn't discourage you or anyone else from trying to get in the Top 100 and becoming a Youtube Partner. Just upload unique interesting content. People are watching and the Youtube website is continuing to grow by leaps and bounds and there is a place for you on it.

Also, I should mention that there are lots of people who don't make that cut, but who are making great content and need to be seen. Even though this is a Top 100 List, I still review youtubers with just a few subscribers too.

Most Subscribers This Past Week

There are the channels based in Canada that have received the most new subscribers. Of course the ones that seem to have received the most are the ones concerning Justin Bieber. You may notice that Bieber's VEVO channel received 2x the number that his personal channel "kidraul" received. Usually I suggest that people sub to an artist's personal channel because they get all the benefits from getting more subscribers to their own work rather than one of channels owned by the record companies, but since Bieber's channel is already the most subscribed in Canada, it doesn't matter really in this case.

But, here are the ten channels with the most new subscribers this past week.
