Fighting False DMCA Claims

This is a good message from TheWillofDC about keeping an eye out for trolls and others who are just trying to disrupt the YouTube community. Apparently some viewers have been try to be mischievious and have submitted claims against various youtubers' videos and getting them taken down by pretending that their content has been stolen by the person who has posted the video.

Pretty dumb guys. The act is known as The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (or DMCA for short) and it was passed around 1998 to "criminalize production and dissemination of technology, devices, or services intended to circumvent measures (commonly known as digital rights management or DRM) that control access to copyrighted works" according to Wikipedia.

A couple of youtubers who have allegedly had their accounts suspended this way are chuggaconroy and nintendocaprisun. I'm not subbed to them so I am pretty sure I haven't watched their videos. Hopefully if they are falsely accused they will have their accounts restored.
